Join Wild & Scenic Rivers Council, together with other partners like American Rivers and the River Management Society for a weekend of free events as they celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act. The Rio Grande Wild and Scenic River has three canyons and runs for 196 miles along the Mexican border. This rural area of the country has beautiful birding and is best accessed by canoe or raft. Celebrations will include the Grand Re-Opening of the Rio Grande Village Visitor Center, a 50th Anniversary party and free rangers talks and tours. KBR Kids Day is one of Buffalo Bayou Partnership’s (BBP) signature events, with thousands of children and their families in attendance each year. Blackwood Land is delighted to announce the first-annual Blackwood Harvest Hoedown, an immersive farm experience celebrating land, food, and community. Hoedown guests will enjoy curated classes and demonstrations from vendors (for adults and youth alike) as well as strolling through the Harvest Market to shop a variety of local goods. Â A farm-fresh lunch is included, followed by a keynote presentation and musical performances. Adults can enjoy crafted beer and specialty wines in the Bier Garten while the Kid Zone provides a supervised area with activities for young explorers to have fun and learn about nature.
