All are welcome to learn about the history of our state symbols, then help plant bluebonnets at Kleb Woods Nature Center’s “A Closer Look at History” program, designed especially for school-aged children.

Introducing BIRD Buddies — The most fun for your 3 to 5-year-old on a Friday. Your children will discover a new bird and the other animals that live in its habitat every week. Natural history education, crafts, games, song and dance and more await your children on this fun journey through the bird world.

In this 3-hour workshop, participants will learn gardening basics and garden nutrition education. The first half includes gardening 101 with hands-on planting demonstrations and tips for growing vegetables. Chef Nadia Ahmed of the Green Roots Kitchen will provide a cooking lesson featuring a delicious, seasonal recipes featuring cool weather greens and sweet potatoes.
Teachers, students age 8+, parents, and community volunteers are welcome. Teachers earn 3 CPE hours per workshop.
Space is limited; registration is required.
Everything about opossums is weird. They’re the only marsupials found north of Mexico. They have opposable thumbs… on their hind feet. They eat garbage and play dead. But there’s more to these strange creatures than meets the eye, as they are some of the most successful animals in North America, and they are extremely helpful to humans. Surprised?
