The City of Houston provides a recycling station for plastic and paper from 11 am to 2 pm on Saturdays at Discovery Green. Thanks to I Recycle Glass, you can also bring your glass each week to be recycled. Please bring paper and plastic recyclables separately from glass. Recycling can be affected by street closures. Check discoverygreen.com each week for schedule updates. Please note: Recycling container is provided by the City of Houston Solid Waste Management. The schedule can be subject to change, but park staff will accept your recycling in the park office during the hours of 10 am to 2 pm regardless of whether the container is on site.

Join the University of Houston’s Center for Public History for an afternoon of personal storytelling and recording of oral histories. Storytellers from different areas of Houston will recount their experiences during Hurricane Harvey. After, the Center for Public History invite members of the public to record their own histories of Hurricane Harvey.
The event is free and open to the public.
Join Bayou City Waterkeeper for their 11th annual Folks ‘N Oysters, benefiting Bayou City Waterkeeper. They will feature local oysters, good food and drinks, live music, and – new this year – a fantastic wine pull.
