Linda Sylvan will be honored with RDA’s 45th anniversary year with the Award for Design Excellence at the 31st RDA Gala LAUNCH on November 11, 2017.  LAUNCHrepresents the years of creativity, determination, and hard work that Linda has put into the Rice Design Alliance, growing it from a small program to a nationally recognized organization.  While she will tell you that all of the credit belongs to the RDA board, RDA and RSA staff and faculty, volunteers, and members over the past 29 years, we know that much of the credit goes to Linda.  We look forward to celebrating with the entire Rice Design Alliance community – architects, builders, engineers, designers, academics, urban planners, writers, artists, government officials, attorneys, accountants, geologists, and everyone else – as we party at LAUNCH!
The Rice Design Alliance marks its 45th anniversary this year as a premier program within Rice Architecture that gives, students, faculty, design professionals and community advocates a launching pad to make a real difference in Houston. The RDA Board of Directors will proudly honor retiring Executive Director, Linda Sylvan and celebrate her three decades shaping Cite, the RDA, and influencing Houston. LAUNCH, RDA’s 31st gala, will take place Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the Hilton Americas Houston. The Rice Design Alliance provides community engagement for Rice Architecture and Rice University, offering lectures, tours, educational events, and publications that promote a vigorous discussion about the built environment in Houston. Gala proceeds provide operating support for RDA’s programs and publications.
Follow RDA on Facebook for more information to come on LAUNCH.
