Memorial Park’s Forest Health Day is an opportunity for you to get your hands dirty together with the Conservancy as we continue to restore balance in the Park’s ecologies.
Join Memorial Park Conservancy, Trees For Houston, and Houston Parks and Recreation Department for this approach to urban forestry, combining tree planting with sustainable forest practices such as invasive removal and soil treatments. This is a family friendly event that welcomes tree lovers of all levels to volunteer and learn about urban forestry.

Love nature and the outdoors? Want to make a difference in the world? Let’s put your passion to work! Join us for the fourth, annual CEES career forum to discover how to transistion from college to an environmental career. Local experts will share their career pathway experiences, offering tips and advice to help students navigate the transition to the working world. The forum will also host local envirommental groups and agencies that have current volunteer, internship, and job opportunities. This event is FREE and open to all college and high school students. Please register using the link at the bottom of the page. ______________________________________________________________________What to expect from the 2020 CEES career forum this year:
- Three, panel discussions with environmental and conservation experts from local non-profits, agencies, and the private sector. The panel session will be open for questions
- Resume-builder help from the University of Saint Thomas’s career services staff. Bring your resume for a spot check!
- Local environmental organizations who are looking for volunteers, interns, and new staff!! Bring your resume and find a position!
- One-on-one opportunities to discuss career pathways with experts in the field
- Networking with other like-minded students
Trees not only help provide wildlife habitat, they help prevent soil erosion and reduce urban heat and noise pollution. Make a positive environmental impact by helping plant native trees and riparian plants along the Spring Creek Greenway. Bring a shovel, work gloves, and a refillable water bottle and get ready to make a difference! Dress for the weather and wear closed-toe shoes. Face coverings required.

A Texas Sized Arbor Day Tree Planting Extravaganza!
Be a Texas-Sized Arbor Day Tree Planting Extravaganza Volunteer! Join Mercer arborist Laura Medick on Friday, November 5 and Saturday, November 6 between 8 – 11 a.m. and 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. each day. Five to six volunteers will assist in 3-hour shifts, to help monitor the tree planting process and distribute water to ensure tree planters stay hydrated.

Help care for nursery trees from the Historical Texas trees collection and other natives at the Mercer Botanic Gardens Horticultural Propagation Center. Join your community and several area partners on Houston’s Arbor Day, January 22nd. Bayou Land Conservancy and partners will be planting native trees that will help protect water quality and community health.
