Gather your friends, family and coworkers and join American Lung Association of Texas at this year’s LUNG FORCE Walk. American Lung Association of Texas are  coming together to celebrate their power to make a difference in a people’s lives.

American Lung Association of Texas is getting ready for a morning of fresh air, healthy fun, and healthy lungs, and American Lung Association of Texas would love to see you there. It doesn’t matter whether you stroll, saunter or power-walk, everyone is welcome, regardless of age or athletic ability.

Sound Healing Meditation in the Cistern @ The Water Works

Find your center and practice meditation in the spacious and tranquil Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern. Offered in collaboration with Union is Creation and Youniversoul this meditation series will feature the use of singing bowls and wind chimes to encourage mindfulness and connectivity. Guests should bring their own cushion or mat.

  • Thursdays from 6-6:45 pm
  • Saturdays from 10-10:45 am

34 person max.

$15 per person

All guests are required to wear a face mask and use hand sanitizer before entering the Cistern. Markers will be placed throughout the space to indicate socially-distanced spots. Cleaning will take place between every Cistern tour and meditation session.

This professional development is designed for middle and High School science teachers who want to integrate climate science into their curriculum.

This Professional Development workshop is sponsored by the NOAA Bay-Watershed Education Training program, NOAA Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary, and Artist Boat.

Professional Development Workshop

  • Live panel discussions with scientists from NOAA and other Environmental agencies
  • Workshop will cover: Linking extreme weather to climate change, how climate change leads to sea level rise and ocean acidification, how to plan a meaningful watershed educational experience on your campus, interpreting scientific data through art, and much more!
  • 4 hour Kayak Adventure with Artist Boat’s professional scientist and artist.
  • Hands on activities weekly.
  • Receive NOAA tools and resources for your classroom.
  • 5 hours of independent learning time weekly with access to a message board to communicate with scientists and other like minded educators.

The Office of the Chief Clerk for the TCEQ will host a public hearing on Thursday, June 7, 2021 on Buendia Concrete, LLC’s proposed Air Quality Standard Permit for a permanent concrete batch plant with enhanced controls. The public will be allowed to either participate in, or observe, the hearing virtually. The hearing will begin at 6:00 PM.
