Description: Houston Wilderness’ Annual Luncheon celebrating the amazing BAYOU WILDERNESS will be on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at the River Oaks Country Club. The event will reveal the hidden beauty and intrinsic value of our bayous that await our appreciation and exploration. A broad, public/private partnership has been assembling the Sam Houston Greenbelt, a 650 mile, continuous trail and wilderness preserve traversing eleven counties surrounding Houston. Please join the Honorary Co-Chairs President George H.W. Bush and George P. Mitchell, and the Event Co-Chairs Beth Robertson and Merrill & Mike Rome, as we celebrate the partners of the Bayou Greenway Initiative, who will create the spoke trails that connect Houston’s core to this outer rim.
