1. Float the Boat: Artist Boat’s Annual Event. Help Float the Boat, Artist Boat’s annual fundraising event, is coming up on October 9th, 2010! 2. Making Connections: Creating a Bicycle-Friendly Region. H-GAC invites you to attend it’s bicycle workshop on Friday, October 15, 2010, from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm. Registration closes October 12. 3. Bike Around the Bay. Galveston Bay Foundation has over 700 registered riders! Don’t be left behind. Register and join GBF for a fully supported, 2-day, 150-mile fun ride around Galveston Bay. 4. Journal of Applied Research on Children. Children at Risk has launched an online peer-reviewed journal. It focuses on the evidenced-based policy solutions for children’s issues and serves to inform legislative and policy decisions as well as practice models. 5. RDA Lecture: Gail Peter Borden. As part of the RDA Fall Lecture Series, Gail Peter Borden will be speaking on October 13th.
