Description: Things will be pretty “far out” as Armand Bayou Nature Center hosts its next Second Saturday event. Each month the nature center helps the community reconnect with nature in family-friendly ways. From 10:00 am – 12 noon on July 10, blast off into space. “Meet the stars” as you enter the portable Starlab planetarium from the Lunar and Planetary Institute. See the North American night sky on the inside of the dome! Try to find other planets! A trained interpreter will be your guide as you explore outer space.

Ever wonder how far it really is between planets in our solar system? “Hike” from one planet to another on a scale model of the solar system along one of ABNC’s trails! Find out how much bigger Jupiter is than Earth.

Young space enthusiasts can try their hand making the spaciest crafts around in the children’s activity room!
