Description: YOUR HELP NEEDED TO CLEAN UP THE NECHES RIVER

A group of citizens are organizing a clean up campaign to pick up trash along the Neches River above Lake Palestine. You are requested to help.

The event will be the first annual. The starting point will be the picnic area where State Hwy. 31 crosses the Neches River. Hwy. 31 is the Chandler Highway out of Tyler. You are asked to take a trash bag and walk the river bank to pick up the litter along with river.

Sponsors will furnish the trash bags and will dispose of the trash.

Refreshments will be furnished and there will be “First Annual Trash Pick Up” tee shirts available.

Organizers of this event are loosely called the “Neches River Navy” and have a desire to improve the River and enhance its beauty.
