Description: The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has scheduled a public meeting to update local stakeholders and the public on its efforts to address water quality impairments in Dickinson Bayou. The meeting will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at the Hughes Elementary School cafeteria located at 11901 Hughes Road, in Dickinson.

The purpose of this meeting is to inform the public of ongoing activities of the TCEQ, Texas AgriLife Extension, the University of Houston and the University of Houston— Clear Lake directed at restoring and protecting water quality in Dickinson Bayou. Also, the TCEQ will solicit input from stakeholders regarding the watershed planning process associated with Dickinson Bayou and other issues of interest to the stakeholders and the public. The public is invited to participate.
TCEQ staff will be available 30 minutes before the meeting to answer general questions. The agenda includes a status report of the Dickinson Bayou Watershed Protection Plan and Implementation, efforts by the Texas AgriLife Extension/Texas Sea Grant, and discussions on the development of an implementation plan for bacteria Total Maximum Daily Loads.
