Join HoustonPBS, the League of Women Voters of the Houston area and the Citizens’ Environmental Coalition for a free screening and panel discussion of the film ‘Taking Root,’ which tells the inspiring story of Kenyan Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Wangari Maathai, whose simple act of planting trees grew into a nationwide movement to safeguard the environment, protect human rights and defend democracy.
