The Progressive Forum presents Lester Brown

April 28, 2009. Lester Brown helped pioneer the concept of sustainability by creating the first research institute devoted to analyzing environmental issues on a global basis, Worldwatch Institute. More recently, he founded Earth Policy Institute to show what sustainable economies look like and how to get there. The Telegraph of Calcutta called him “the guru of the environmental movement.” He’s been honored with a MacArthur “genius” Fellowship, he’s published 50 books translated into over 40 languages, and his latest is Plan B 3.0: Mobilizing to Save Civilization.
