LEADERSHIP LUNCH THURSDAY – DEMOGRAPHICS, ENVIRONMENT, AND TRANSPORTATION

On Thursday, May 22, Vincent Sanders, a transportation systems planner for METRO, will speak on “Demographics and the Environment As Seen Through the Eyes of a Transportation Planner.” Although roads and streets have significant effects on our environment, few of us have any understanding of why roads are put where they are. This program will try to help you understand the process.Sanders joined METRO in 1998. He maintains socioeconomic and travel databases to generate reports on trip patterns, demographic profiles, and patronage estimates for proposed transit service options and facilities. Prior to joining METRO, he worked as a transportation consultant with RSM Services. Sanders has a degree in Business Administration from Wayne State University and a MS in Transportation Planning and Management from Texas Southern University. He is on the board of directors of the Texas Economic & Demographic Association, Houston Chapter. The event is in the second floor meeting room at 3015 Richmond from 11:30 am to 1 pm. The fee is $15 and includes lunch. Please RSVP to ella@cechouston.org
