SIGN UP NOW FOR SPRING-BREAK CAMPS
Several of our member groups are offering day camps during spring break – it’s coming up soon.Eddie V. Gray Wetlands Education & Recreation Center in Baytown will have camp for fourth to seventh graders from Monday, March 17 to Friday, March 21. Jesse H. Jones Park & Nature Center, at 20634 Kenswick Drive in Humble, offers a different short class each day of spring break. On March 15, children older than 10 can study the ecology of Spring Creek; on Monday, March 17, visitors can learn more about local and exotic amphibians at 10 am and native venomous and harmless snakes at 1 pm; and on Tuesday, the camp offers training for budding canoeists ages 10 to 15. The week fills out with a “Homestead Hoedownâ€, a junior anglers class, and a performance of The Magician’s Nephew. Reservations are required and may be made beginning Friday, March 7. Hana and Arthur Ginzbarg Nature Discovery Center, at 7112 Newcastle in Bellaire has camp from March 17 to March 20 for children aged 5 and older. Sessions run from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. Topics are: Wearing of the Green; Wriggly, Squirmy Animals; Art Camp; and Spring Things. A child may be signed up for one or all of them. The cost is $50 per day for non-members.
