SPOTLIGHT ON SYNERGY WINNERS BUFFALO BAYOU PARTNERSHIP AND PATRICIA GRAS, LIVING SMART

CEC’S tenth annual Synergy Awards were presented at a luncheon at the Houstonian Hotel on Monday, November 5.Patricia Gras, producer of Living Smart, HoustonPBS received the Media Award. Living Smart is a weekly, half-hour interview and news magazine program focusing on personal well-being. Last season included shows about environmental justice, with Juan Parras, environmental and community activist, and another about building with recycled materials, featuring Dan Phillips, founder of the Phoenix Commotion. CEC appreciates that Gras connects environmental matters with personal well-being.

Anne Olsen accepted the education award for the Buffalo Bayou Partnership. It’s projects include KBR Kids Day on Buffalo, which provided more than 3,000 children and families a chance to experience hands-on environmental learning, history tours, bat viewing, and many events that encourage people to visit the bayou.
