MAKING HOUSTON A MODEL ENVIRONMENTAL CITY
The City of Houston, along with co-sponsor Keep Houston Beautiful, will host the 2006 Environmental Summit on Thursday, June 1, at the Marriott Westchase. Speakers are Rebecca Rentz of TCEQ Region 12, John Wilson of GHASP, Mike Talbott of Harris County Flood Control District, Houston mayor Bill White, Jamie Mitchell of Plug-In Partners, Kate Watson of Horizon Wind Energy, Brian Yeoman of Houston Advanced Research Center, David Crossley of the Gulf Coast Institute, Roland Strobel of the Houston-Galveston Area Council, Pat DeRueda of Recycle America, Richard Stamper of Living Earth Technology, Bob Randall of Urban Harvest, and Jane Laping of Mothers for Clean Air. Mayor White will present the City’s environmental excellence awards at the luncheon and there will be a “Recycled Fashion Show” coordinated by Houston Community College.Fee: $30 early registration (before May 19); $40 late registration (after May 19).
