CEC AT THE FRAY TONIGHT

The Citizens’ Environmental Coalition will be a part of the “Eco Village” at The Fray’s concert at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion this evening. The Fray is lessening the environmental impact of its summer tour by purchasing renewable energy offsets for the tour vehicles and the power used at each concert. The band is also switching to reusable SIGG water bottles to reduce the plastic waste backstage and offering eco-friendly merchandise to its fans. The “Eco Village” will allow concert goers to get information about environmental groups such as Gulf Coast Institute, Texans for Alternatives to Pesticides, and Galveston Baykeeper. The green elements of the tour are organized by Reverb, a non-profit organization founded by environmentalist Lauren Sullivan and her husband, Guster guitarist/vocalist Adam Gardner.
