KBR KIDS DAY ON BUFFALO BAYOU IS JUNE 9

Buffalo Bayou Partnership is hosting an family event with hands-on educational activities, music, food, park performers, and boat rides on the bayou on Saturday, June 9 from 11am-3pm. Activity stations will include touch tanks with native animals, wetland hikes, a bayou scavenger hunt, kayaking demos with REI, bat games and fishing lessons with Texas Parks & Wildlife, and wildflower plantings. Hikes and boat tours will focus on the Sabine Street outfall where participants will learn about how trash arrives in the bayou through the city’s storm sewers and how it is captured with containment booms. Buffalo Bayou Partnership’s skimmer boat, the Mighty Tidy, will celebrate its 4th Birthday! The festivities will be at Downtown’s Sabine Promenade and Tapley Tributary.
