Texas Community Watershed Partners seek a GIFT Program Coordinator I
Texas Community Watershed Partners (a part of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Disaster Assessment and Recovery Unit) in Houston, TX is seeking applications for a Program Coordinator I. This position will work out of our office in the Clear Lake Houston area (near Johnson Space Center) as part of the Green Infrastructure for Texas (GIFT) program. The Program Coordinator I, under general supervision, supports green infrastructure planning and education efforts for communities along the Texas Coast, and assists leadership in achieving Green Infrastructure for Texas (GIFT) program goals.
Responsibilities
- Plans and implements program events such as conferences, seminars, lectures, meetings and
workshops. - Communicates the GIFT program goals and opportunities to external partners.
- Responds to inquiries regarding program offerings.
- Coordinates program communications and marketing of GIFT opportunities.
- Compiles program statistics for reports.
- Represents the agency to stakeholders.
- Develops and updates training materials and delivers training sessions related to various green
infrastructure topics. - Maintains program records and databases.
- Assists in developing project ideas, identifying funding opportunities, and completing grant applications.
- May assist in preparation and monitoring of budgets for programs (workshops, online trainings, webinars, etc.) and events.
- Plans and implements programs and assists in their evaluation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Overnight travel within Texas is required.
 Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
- Ability to present technical information in an effective manner to a wide variety of community
stakeholders. - Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift or move moderate weight objects up to 40 lbs, as needed for in-person workshops and
trainings.
