TCEQ Comment Period on Air Quality Standard Permits for Concrete Batch Plants – through June 29, 2021

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is providing the public with the opportunity to comment on a proposed amendment to the Air Quality Concrete Batch Plants’ standard permit. The Permit was originally issued in 2000 and has been amended twice (once in 2003 and a second time in 2012). In 2012, an amendment was made that removed an existing exception for emissions and distance limitations, the proposed amendment would reinstate these exceptions.

The public is welcome to submit written comments on the proposed amendment online, or by mail to Gwen Ricco, MC 205, Office of Legal Services, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, P.O. Box 13087, Austin, Texas 78711-3087. The deadline for comment submission is June 29, 2021.

A public meeting will be held on June 28, 2021 at 7:00 PM for further, structured discussion. TCEQ staffers will be available for half an hour before the meeting for open discussion on the issue. Registration for the meeting can be done by email or phone for both observers and participants.
