CEC Welcomes Amy Kuriakose as an Environmental Policy Intern
Amy Kuriakose is a rising senior at Rice University who is double majoring in Environmental Science and Ecology & Evolutionary Biology and minoring in Poverty, Justice, and Human Capabilities. As a student with experience in research and community service, she is looking forward to making a meaningful community impact through her work at the CEC. Amy is especially interested in science policy and is passionate about environmental justice. After graduating from Rice, she is planning on attending graduate school to study environmental policy or a related field.
Amy is originally from Plainsboro, NJ, and enjoys going home to spend time with her cat Ginger (as well as her family and friends!). Some of her hobbies include assembling jigsaw puzzles, biking, trying new restaurants, and drawing. Amy also loves to explore the outdoors, especially by visiting national parks and doing challenging hikes (the photo above was taken at Angel’s Landing in Zion National Park).
Amy is excited to apply her skills and contribute to the CEC’s mission while also gaining experience and expanding her knowledge of social justice, civic engagement, and environmental policy.
