Houston City Council Agenda – March 2, 2021

The city will consider the following agenda items at the Houston City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 2, 2021, which will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams starting at 1:30 PM. Public comment will be allowed Tuesday, March 2, 2021 by teleconference. Topics to be addressed in this meeting include contract approval for Wastewater Collection Systems Rehabilitation, the addition of Lower Carbon Alternative Fuels for Fleet Management, a new facility for the Solid Waste Management Department, and several Municipal Setting Designations, among other topics.

  • Agenda Item 3 is a recommendation from the Director of Houston Public Works for approval of the final contract amount of $2,636,958 and acceptance of work on contract with Portland Utilities Construction Company, LLC, for Wastewater Collection Systems Rehabilitation and Renewal.
  • Agenda Item 15 is an ordinance approving and authorizing the first amendment to the agreement between the City of Houston and Sunoco, LLC, for 87 Octane Unleaded Reformulated Gasoline for the Fleet Management Department, to add Lower Carbon Alternative Fuels to the existing contract.
  • Agenda Item 20 is an ordinance appropriating $873,198 out of the Solid Waste Consolidated Construction Fund; approving and authorizing a Professional Architectural Service Contract between the city of Houston and Rey de la Reza Architects, INC, for the Design and Construction Phase Services for a new multi-use facility or the Solid Waste Management Department.
  • Agenda Item 21 is an ordinance appropriating $9,433,802 out of the Solid Waste Consolidated Construction Fund; approving and authorizing a Construction Manager At Risk Contract between the city of Houston and Christensen Building Group, LLC, for the Pre-Construction and Construction Phase Services for a new multi-use facility or the Solid Waste Management Department.
  • Agenda Item 22 is an ordinance consenting to the addition of 352.7329 acres of land to Harris County Improvement District NO. 13.
  • Agenda Item 23 is an ordinance consenting to the addition of 250.561 acres of land to Harris County Improvement District NO. 14.
  • Agenda Item 24 is an ordinance consenting to the addition of 1.2542 acres of land to Harris County Improvement District NO. 15, for inclusion in the District and acknowledging the exclusion of 1.2342 acres of land from the District.
  • Agenda Item 25 is an ordinance consenting to the addition of 2146.145 acres of land to the Richfield Rach Management District.
  • Agenda Item 26 is an ordinance approving and authorizing a second amendment to the agreement between the City of Houston and the Texas Water Development Board for administering the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Flood Mitigation Assistance Program.
  • Agenda Item 27 is a Municipal Setting Designation ordinance prohibiting the use of designated groundwater beneath a tract of land containing 4.3023 acres commonly known as 4121 Osage Street, Houston, Harris County, Texas; supporting issuance of a Municipal Setting Designation by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
  • Agenda Item 28 is a Municipal Setting Designation ordinance prohibiting the use of designated groundwater beneath a tract of land containing 0.4334 acres commonly known as 3004 Maxroy Street, Houston, Harris County, Texas; supporting issuance of a Municipal Setting Designation by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
  • Agenda Item 29 is a Municipal Setting Designation ordinance prohibiting the use of designated groundwater beneath a tract of land containing 4.244 acres commonly known as 701 Holmes Road, Houston, Harris County, Texas; supporting issuance of a Municipal Setting Designation by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
