Bayou Preservation Association seeks Young Adult Conservation Field Work Crews
Bayou Preservation Association is seeking young adult conservation field work crews to undertake the removal of invasive plant species in a 16.5-acre riparian project site in Harris County under the supervision of a vegetation management firm. Crews will include herbicide application and chainsaw licensed members. Bayou Preservation (and/or a subcontractor) will provide conservation education to the crews to build a future workforce that is educated on coastal habitat restoration issues and techniques. Crews will also be responsible for assisting in the replanting native plants in areas at risk for recolonization by invasive plants. Bayou Preservation Association’s goal is to complete much of work by May 31, 2021. We anticipate securing a minimum of eight weeks up to twelve weeks of fee for service workforce to complete the project. Applications must be submitted by Jan. 21, 2021.
