Houston City Council Agenda – November 4, 2020

The city will consider the following agenda items at the Houston City Council meeting scheduled for Wednesday, November 4, 2020, which will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams at 9:00 AM. Public comment will be allowed Wednesday, November 4, 2020 by teleconference. This meeting will cover topics such as Electronic Submersible Trash Pumps, a loan application with the Texas Water Development Board, the Hillcroft Paving and Drainage Project, Force Main Renewal for several Lift Stations, among other topics.

  • Agenda Item 1 is a recommendation from the Director of Houston Public Works for payment to Texas Commission on Environmental Quality or Annual Consolidated Water Quality Fees, Air Emission Fees and Emissions Inspection Fee for FY2021 for the City’s Wastewater Treatment Plants at a cost of $1,811,512.
  • Agenda Item 5 involves spending authority for the purchase of Electronic Submersible Trash Pumps with the Houston-Galveston Area Council for Houston Public Works Department at a cost of $137,705.
  • Agenda Item 7 is a resolution authorizing the City to make a loan application with the Texas Water Development Board’s Flood Infrastructure Fund Funding Program.
  • Agenda Item 10 is an ordinance consenting to the addition of 24.16 acres of land to Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 460; granting consent to exercise road powers and authorizing the district to issue loans for road facilities within the City of Houston, Texas, subject to certain conditions.
  • Agenda Item 11 is an ordinance finding and determining public convenience and necessity for the acquisition of real property interests in connection with the public improvement project known as the Hillcroft Paving and Drainage Project: from Bissonnet to Beechnut.
  • Agenda Item 12 is an ordinance authorizing Purchase and Sale Agreement between Rolling Frito-Lay Sales (Seller), and the City of Houston, Texas in the amount of $732,840 for a permanent Waterline Easement.
  • Agenda Item 14 is an ordinance appropriating $262,500 out of the Dedicated Drainage and Street Renewal Capital Fund; approving and authorizing a first amendment to the Professional Engineering Services contract between the City of Houston and Kavi Consulting, INC for FY19 Local Drainage Project Work Order Design Contract #6.
  • Agenda Item 16 is an ordinance appropriating $1,159,046 out of Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund awarding a contract to Vaca Underground Utilities, INC for Force Main Renewal and Replacement for Tanya Circle, Old Stone Trail and Plum Creek Lift Stations.
  • Agenda Item 17 is an ordinance appropriating $22,370,730 out of Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund, awarding a contract to SER Construction Partners, LLC for a 48-inch Water Line along Fuqua & Forbes from Moers Road to Almeda-Genoa Road.
  • Agenda Item 18 is an ordinance appropriating $7,362,267 out of Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund, awarding a contract to Andrew-Jordan Industrial LLC for 69th Street WWTP Electrical Equipment Replacement and Upgrade.
  • Agenda Item 19 is an ordinance authorizing the transfer of $15,155,452 from NETL Expansion Swift Fund to HPW-NETL Construction fund and appropriating said sum out of the HPW-NETL Construction Fund, appropriating $944,885 out of Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund, awarding a contract to Five Companies, LLC for 108-Inch Water Line along the City easement from Willis St. to Imperial Valley Dr.
  • Agenda Item 20 is a recommendation from the Chief Procurement Officer to make awards for Lawn, Garden, Insecticide, and Herbicide Chemicals for Various Departments.
