BATS AND RABIES SEMINAR FOR PROFESSIONALS
There will be a free workshop, Living Among Bats And Avoiding Rabies Risks, on Friday, June 8, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm at Klein ISD Boardroom, 7200 Spring Cypress Road. The workshop will cover bat species in Southeast TX, their habits and habitats; successful bat exclusion techniques and certification for pest control companies; bat and human rabies cases in the US; human rabies pre- and post- exposure vaccinations and public health laws and regulations that apply to bat colony removal, including from schools.Animal Control Officers will earn continuing education credit hours. Law enforcement officers will earn TCLEOSE hours The workshop is sponsored by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Bat Conservation International, DSHS Zoonosis Control, and Region 6 & 5 South Southwest School Integrated Pest Management Technical Resource Center.
