Houston City Council Agenda – February 18, 2020

The City will consider the following agenda items at the Houston City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, February 18, 2020, in the City Hall Chamber at 1:30 PM (public comment) and at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, February 19, 2020. The agenda includes recommendations pertaining to a privately constructed 8-inch water line project, acceptance of work with Resicom INC., for the Water Line Replacement in Tall Timbers Area, and the authorization of a FMA grant application in favor of the City of Houston. In addition, the agenda includes ordinances regarding the contract established between the City of Houston and Resicom for the Cast Iron Water Line improvements and several ordinances for the final approval of a fund amount from the Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund. 

Agenda Item 3 and 4 are recommendations from the Director of Houston Public Works for an establishment of a connection charge for a privately constructed 8-inch water line that is constructed along Naomi Street and David Street, undeveloped, to 2127 Naomi Street. 

Agenda Item 5 is an ordinance approving additional appropriation to contract between the City of Houston and Resicom Inc. for 30-inch and 36-inch Cast Iron Water Line improvements from South Boulevard to Westpark Drive. 

Agenda Item 7 is a recommendation from the Director of Houston Public Works for the acceptance of work with Resicom INC., and authorize the final contract amount of $2,843,354.14 or 4.75% over the original contract amount for the Water Line Replacement in Tall Timbers Area. 

Agenda Item 30 is a recommendation from the Director of Houston Public Works to the Texas Water Development Board for Community Flood Mitigation Assistance based on the final authorization of a FMA grant application. If approved, the Director of Houston Public Works will act as the City’s representative in the application process. 

Agenda Item 33, 34, 35, 36, 38, and 39 are ordinances appropriating a certain amount of fund out of Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund. Amongst those ordinances includes agreements between the City of Houston and Binkley & Barfield INC., the City of Houston and Othon INC., the City of Houston and CDM Smith INC., the City of Houston and Civiltech INC., the City of Houston and Briones Consulting & Engineering LTD., and Resicom, INC.
