Houston City Council Agenda – April 17, 2018

This city considered the following agenda items at the April 17, 2018, Houston Council Meeting. The agenda items include lift station renewals, funds appropriated for the NEWPP Expansion, and robotics technology for sewer system inspections.24:  $343,200.00 from Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund as an additional amount to Professional Engineering Services Contract between the City of Houston and IDS ENGINEERS GROUP, INC for Lift Station Renewal and Replacement Project. Lift stations are facilities that move wastewater from lower to higher elevation, reducing the cost of sewer system construction. These are the following locations: High Star, Alief Village, WCID #78, Roark #3, Belle Park #2, Belle Park #1 and WCID #94.

25: Over $5 million from the NEWPP Expansion–Swift Fund into the PWE-NEWPP Construction Fund, for services associated with the Northeast Water Purification Plant (“NEWPP”) Expansion Project. In addition, another $40.4 million from the Water Authorities Capital Contrib-NEWPP Fund was assigned to the Northeast Water Purification Plant Expansion Project. Lastly, the Design-Build Agreement between the City of Houston and HOUSTON WATERWORKS TEAM, a joint venture between CH2M HILL ENGINEERS, INC and CDM CONSTRUCTORS INC was approved.

26: Nearly $2 million from the Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund was awarded to REDZONE ROBOTICS INC for Large Diameter Sanitary Sewer Inspection Using Robotic Technology. The robotic technology will be used to inspect sewer lines to be fixed.
