Do you like cucumbers, guava, and tequila? Then you love bats! Join Dr. Cullen Geiselman and the Houston Arboretum for a fun and relaxed talk about these wonderful but misunderstood creatures. In particular, you’ll learn why bats are crucial for pest control, seed dispersal, and pollination. While you learn, you’ll enjoy a selection of beers from Saint Arnold Brewing Company, light snacks, and Katz Coffee. Weather permitting, you’ll be able to go on a night hike to look for bats. Remember to wear walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Get your tickets ($30 for members, $45 for non-members) and register here.

Instructor bio: Dr. Cullen Geiselman holds a BA in Environmental Science and Policy from Duke University and an MA and PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Columbia University. Her research focuses on seed dispersal and pollination by bats.
