Houston City Council Agenda – July 26, 2017
This city will consider the following agenda items at the July 26, 2017, Houston Council Meeting.
25, 26 – This ordinance appropriates $450,000.00 out of Parks & Recreation Dedication Fund, it approves and authorizes an Interlocal Agreement between the City and the Houston Parks Board LGC, Inc. for the acquisition of a 1.4635 acre property located on Wilcrest Drive, near the intersection with Brays Bayou in Park Sector 18 and City Council District F. This ordinance appropriates $89,000.00 out of Reimbursement of Equipment/Projects Fund and $53,000.00 out of the Parks & Recreation Dedication Fund, awarding construction contract to Neutex Advanced Energy Group, Inc. for Mason Plaza lighting. Setting a deadline for the bidder’s execution of the contract and delivery of all bonds, insurance and other required contract documents to the City, holding the bidder in default if it fails to meet the deadlines.
29 – This ordinance approves and authorizes a Treated Water Supply Contract between the City of Galena Park and the City of Houston, Texas. The contract has been designed to address water shortages, encourage water supply management and provide flexibility to better respond to development demands and drought conditions.
30, 31, 32 – This ordinance approves and authorizes a contract between the City and the Property Owner(s) at 4711 Braesvalley Drive, Houston Texas 77096-4202 for Federal Emergency Management Agency Flood Mitigation Assistance Home Elevation Work to be performed by Arkitektura Development Inc. This ordinance approves and authorizes a contract between the City and the Property Owner(s) at 4715 Braesvalley Drive, Houston, Texas, 77096-4202 for Federal Emergency Management Agency Flood Mitigation Assistance Home Elevation Work to be performed by Arkitektura Development Inc. This ordinance approves and authorizes a contract between the City and the Property Owner(s) at 4402 Breakwood Drive, Houston, Texas, 77096-4202 for Federal Emergency Management Agency Flood Mitigation Assistance Home Elevation Work to be performed by Arkitektura Development Inc.
33 -Â This ordinance approves and authorizes a contract between the City and the Property Owner(s) at 9407 Cadman Court, Houston, Texas, 77096-4202 for Federal Emergency Management Agency Flood Mitigation Assistance Home Elevation Work to be performed by Planet Three Consulting Corp.
34, 35, 36 -Â This ordinance approves and authorizes a contract between the City and the Property Owner(s) at 9103 Cliffwood, Houston, Texas, 77096-4202 for Federal Emergency Management Agency Flood Mitigation Assistance Home Elevation Work to be performed by Arkitektura Development Inc. This ordinance approves and authorizes a contract between the City and the Property Owner(s) at 9706 Kit Street, Houston, Texas, 77096-4202 for Federal Emergency Management Agency Flood Mitigation Assistance Home Elevation Work to be performed by Arkitektura Development Inc. 37, 38 – This ordinance approves and authorizes contract between the City and the Property Owner(s) at 4710 North Braeswood Boulevard, Houston, Texas, 77096-4202 and for Federal Emergency Management Agency Flood Mitigation Assistance Home Elevation Work to be performed by Titan Lifetime Foundations LLC. This ordinance approves and authorizes contract between the City and the Property Owner(s) at 4718 North Braeswood Boulevard, Houston, Texas 77096-4202 for Federal Emergency Management Agency Flood Mitigation Assistance Home Elevation Work to be performed by Titan Lifetime Foundations LLC.
45 – This ordinance approves and authorizes second amendment to Professional Engineering Services Contract between the City of Houston and Cobb, Fendley & Associates, Inc. for Pre-Engineering of Storm Water Drainage Improvements. This project is part of the Storm Drainage Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) and is required to provide professional engineering services to investigate, verify, and define storm water drainage problems, structural flooding, and storm sewer system capacity issues.
47, 48 – This ordinance appropriates $713,755.00 out of Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund and approves and authorizes Professional Engineering Services Contract between the City of Houston and Zarinkelk Engineering Services, Inc. for Gravity Sewer Line Adjustment. This project consists of the design of a gravity sewer line from east of Old Galveston Road to the Metro Central Wastewater Treatment Plant to avoid an existing high pressure gas line. This ordinance appropriates $7,964,400.00 out of Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund, and awards contract to Industrial TX. Corp. for Metro Central and Turkey Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements. This project consist of upgrades and improvements to the lift station, clarifiers, sludge thickener, blower system, and to the sludge pumps at Metro Central WWTP and the replacement of transformer at Turkey Creek WWTP.
49 –  This ordinance appropriates $5,099,231.00 out of Water and Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund, and awards contract to Synagro of Texas-CDR, Inc. for 69th Street WWTP cleaning and evaluation. This project is a part of the Wastewater Process Unit Cleaning and Evaluation Program and is required to remove accumulated Solids/Sand and Grit from several wastewater treatment facilities throughout the City and evaluate conditions of the cleaned process units to identify the required maintenance/rehabilitation. The project involves cleaning and an evaluation of several process units at the City’s 69th Street Wastewater Treatment Plant . The purpose is to regain wastewater treatment capacity and improve performance, prevent solids  migration from one process unit to another, help extend operating life various pieces of equipment, reduce sanitary sewer overflows, and maintain regulatory compliance of the wastewater treatment plant.
