83rd Texas Legislature Regular Session, January 15, 2013

The following are bills (SB=Senate Bill, HB=House Bill, and HJR=House Joint Resolution) which may be of interest to the region’s environmental community and which have been filed in the past week:

  • SB 170: Relating to building code standards for new residential construction in the unincorporated area of a county.
  • HB 378: Relating to the development of a climate adaptation plan by certain entities.
  • HB 379: Relating to the imposition of a fee on oil and gas waste disposed of by injection in a commercial injection well permitted by the Railroad Commission of Texas.
  • HB 380: Relating to safety requirements applicable to gas pipelines in certain counties.
  • HB 412: Relating to the punishment for a false affiliation with a charitable organization or a false claim of a charitable purpose in the course of committing certain crimes.
  • HB 419: Relating to designating the first Friday in November as Texas Arbor Day.
  • HB 426: Relating to the regulatory analysis of rules proposed by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
  • HB 448: Relating to a requirement that the operator of an oil or gas well on which a hydraulic fracturing treatment is to be performed mail a list of the chemicals to be used in the treatment to persons residing near the well.
  • HB 449: Relating to restrictions on xeriscaping by property owners’ associations and certain political subdivisions.
  • HB 450: Relating to the designation of a state climatologist.

No further actions have been taken on bills identified in CEC updates.
