CHECK OUT ALTERNATIVE ENERGY SYSTEMS

Sheldon Lake State Park is celebrating Earth Day from 10 am to 3 pm on Saturday, April 28, with family events, games and prizes, and demonstrations of renewable energy and green building concepts. Geothermal air conditioning, solar energy, recycled building products and a wind turbine and other renewable energy and green building concepts can be viewed at the park. Visitors can enjoy the many different habitats as they participate in guided nature walks or catch and release fishing in the youth ponds. The Sheldon Lake State Park is in Northeast Houston at 15315 Beaumont Highway and Park Road 138. There is no fee to enter the park or the Earth Day Celebration.
