A sea-going kayak valued at $1,729.99 will be raffled at the annual “Help Float the Boat” festival and fund raiser on Friday, November 9 benefitting Galveston’s leading conservation and education program, Artist Boat.

The Looksha 17 Outfitter is a sporty touring kayak with a comfortable and supportive back band. This kayak offers high initial stability, excellent glide and outstanding acceleration ensuring that strong currents, tides or wind chop up to four feet won’t slow you down. The kayak was sponsored by Ann Simmons, Barry Cornell, Necky Kayaks, and Ocean Kayak Pro Staff member Jeff Herman. It will be on display at MOD Coffee House starting in the first week of September and raffle tickets may be purchased there.

Event organizers note that an estimated $25,000 in goods and services will be auctioned the night of the event, including a variety of top-quality merchandise and gift certificates provided by local merchants.
