Description: Buffalo Bayou Partnership, Native Plant Society and Katy Prairie Conservancy will take you on a walking tour through Tapley Tributary, just west of Sabine Street along Buffalo Bayou. This area is a “hidden gem” near downtown that is home to many native plants and lush scenery. The importance of native plants and the hindrance of invasive species will be discussed. Healthy planting techniques for your garden will also be highlighted. In addition, we’ll showcase a new wildflower seed project along Buffalo Bayou Park, spearheaded by Katy Prairie Conservancy. To top off this tour, you will get an up close chance to see our own educational truck, the Invasive Plant Eradication Unit.
