Description: NASH PRAIRIE AND SEA CENTER
Saturday, August 11, 2012
We will visit Brazoria County’s Nash Prairie, owned by the Nature Conservancy and one of the most diverse coastal prairies left on the Texas Coast. Over two hundred species of plants have been identified on Nash Prairie and many wildflowers should be in full summer bloom. To get out of the heat after visiting Nash Prairie we will have lunch in Lake Jackson and then visit Sea Center in the afternoon, where in air conditioned splendor, we can visit aquariums and fish hatcheries. We will also view the lake and freshwater wetlands that are located next door. Bring your daypack, at least two quarts of water, snacks, hiking shoes, cameras, binoculars, bug repellant, sunscreen, field guides, clothes to fit the weather, and enough money for lunch. Long pants are recommended!. If you want to come call or email Brandt Mannchen at 713-664-5962 or brandtshnfbt@juno.com
