Description: Join students, parents and members of the community from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. April 28
to celebrate the restoration of six acres of state park’s sand dunes. These dunes
provide important habitat for endangered sea turtles, migratory shorebirds and local
nesting species such as the Wilson’s plover. Restoration efforts were provided by
Galveston fourth graders and community participants working in a community outdoor
outreach program directed by Artist Boat and funded through a grant awarded by the
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation.
