Description: Friday April 13th is the first of three Bike to Work days in Houston! Houston is so large, there will be two more Bike to Work Day events in town: Bike to Work in the Energy Corridor on Thursday, May 17th and Bike to Work to the Texas Medical Center on Friday, May 18th!

The first of Houston’s Bike to Work Day event is scheduled for Friday, April 13th, and we would love your participation to make it happen. You can start at one of your favorite local bike shops, or alike 2010, you can start your ride to City Hall with Mayor Park at Memorial Park! Local bike shops participating in this event include Bicycle World & Fitness, Bike Barn, Bikesport, Blue Line Bike Labs, Sun & Ski and West End Bikes.

Why is this event important? Participating in Bike to Work Day provides you – a Houston bicyclist – the opportunity to meet and greet with your elected officials and share your passion and support for safe cycling facilities in our City. While many people already bicycle to work, many do not because they either (1) don’t know how or where to start or (2) are just a little nervous about it and would benefit from trying it out with others. This event will address these concerns and more!
