Description: For 43 years, Earth Day has inspired awareness and appreciation for the planet we call home. Spring into action and celebrate the wonders of the world during Earth Day at the Children’s Museum of Houston. Make a big difference to protect the environment by learning about it.
• Texas Wildlife Rehab Center: Stick around for a wild show-and-tell of animals including reptiles, opossums and owls. Event time: Noon – 4 p.m. at EcoStation.
• Texas Wildlife Association: Participate in a skin crawling presentation of skulls and skins. Event Time: Noon – 2 p.m. at Junktion.
• Seed Paper Making: Reuse paper scraps to create beautiful seed paper you can plant in your garden at home. Event Time: 1 – 3 p.m. at Kid’s Hall.
• Water Bottle Birdfeeders: Make a birdfeeder to take home using recycled water bottles.
Event Time: 2 – 4 p.m. at Kid’s Hall.
• Newspaper Shade Hats: Make a shade hat out of old newspaper to wear outside on hot, sunny days. Event Time: 3 – 5 p.m. at Kid’s Hall
• Trees for Houston: Swing by the Alcove to take home seedlings to plant in your backyard. (While supplies last) Event Time: 4 – 6 p.m. at Alcove.
