Description: On Friday, January 13, join nature photographer Michael Black at this Science Café as he shares a glimpse into the sometimes strange and hidden beauty of the Big Thicket. Mr. Black’s images portray the adventures and discoveries of research teams working on the All-Taxa Biodiversity Inventory as they scour the Big Thicket to find every species living in this area. While working with the scientists, Mr. Black has had the privilege of being the first to photograph several species new to science. See his amazing photographs of Big Thicket life, from frogs and snakes to slime molds and fungi, while also learning about the role of photography in science and education.
