Description: Post-construction stormwater management in ares of new development or redevelopment is necessary because runoff from these areas has been shown to significantly affect receiving waterbodies. Increased impervious surfaces and areas altered by development carry larger volumes of water more quickly that can contain more more sediments and pollutants. Prior planning and design to minimize pollutants in post-construction stormwater is the most cost-effective approach to stormwater quality management.
