  1. Tadpoles Registration. Jones Park is hosting a program to interest youth in nature. The Tadpoles program introduces children ages 3-4 to the outdoors with short talks, hikes, crafts, and stories. The program is held on Wednesdays from 10:30am-1pm from September 7th to the 28th. Registration begins on August 1st at 8am. For more information, call the park at 281-446-8588.
  2. Working With Injured and Orphaned Animals. Sharon Schmalz, the Executive Director of the Wildlife Rehab & Education Center, will be giving a talk at the Nature Discovery Center on August 3rd at 7pm. Sharon Schmalz has maintained the multiple state and federal permits necessary to care for injured, orphaned, endangered, educational and oiled wildlife for 26 years.   3. Habitat Restoration and the Quality of Life. J. David Bamberger, frequent lecturer and speaker at workshops and conferences throughout the state, will be presenting at a seminar about habitat restoration and the quality of life. The lecture, co-sponsored by the Organic Horticulture Business Alliance (a committee of Urban Harvest) and the Texas Nursery & Landscape Association, will take place on August 3rd from 9-11am at the United Way Building.
