Description: The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) will be assisting four coastal counties (Matagorda, Brazoria, Galveston and Chambers) in their efforts to revitalize the tourism industry which has been impacted by Hurricane Ike. The IEDC team will be in Galveston County at The Tremont House, 2300 Ships Mechanic Row, Galveston, Texas 77550, Wednesday, May 18, and Thursday, May 19, to conduct focus group interviews with professionals, tourism stakeholders and city officials for an in-depth exchange of information regarding the state of the region’s tourism efforts and tourism infrastructure. The team will conduct a workshop to develop an action plan for the tourism industry on Thursday, May 19, and would like to invite you to attend. This effort is funded through a grant by the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA).
