Description: Join June Woest and Nature Discovery Center staff naturalists on a walk through the park as we explore the art pieces on display in this year’s Defining Green Art in the Park Exhibition, an outdoor sculpture exhibition in Russ Pitman Park. Artists respond with a site-specific temporary work to the word “green” in the park. Approximately 15 artists will exhibit in “Defining Green”, and this is the third year that we’ll be displaying art specifically created for a show at Russ Pittman Park and the Nature Discovery Center.

June Woest is an interdisciplinary artist, an educator, and curator. She holds an MFA in drawing, painting, and ceramics from the University of Houston. She is the proprietor and curator of an alternative exhibition space in Houston, a billboard titled, RoadsignUSA. She is a member of the Dirt Committee, a group of artists interested in urban aesthetics. She teaches Art History and Art Appreciation classes at Houston Community College, Southeast, and is also the Associate Chair of her department.
