Description: Sometimes success in the garden has more to do with understanding the fundamentals, than it does choosing plants and watering. Learn the basics of organic gardening from the concepts of soil biology to basic pest control. This class will touch upon creating a diverse soil food web, choosing organic fertilizers, selecting appropriate mulches for your beds, identifying high quality compost, and encouraging beneficial insects into your garden. Note: Fort Bend County Master Gardeners receive education credits.
