- Galveston Bay – A “Great Water”. Galveston Bay was designated as a new “Great Water” by America’s Great Waters Coalition. The coalition works to restore the Great Waters across the nation, while advocating for restoration funding and raising awareness about the challenges. - Eco-Art Kayak Adventures. During the month of April, Artist Boat is offering a special deal designed for school groups, universities, and non-profits. Participants will gain hands-on experience in Galveston Bay with a four hour Eco-Art Adventure. Up to 25 participants can attend for $450. - West Houston Trails Master Plan. The Energy Corridor District and the National Park Service have announced the completion of the comprehensive study known as the West Houston Trails Master Plan. - Houses of Import: 2011 RDA Home Tour. Rice Design Alliance is hosting a tour that will feature homes around the city designed by architects from outside the Houston region. The tour will reveal how unique characteristics of Houston – climate, history, transportation, landscape, lack of zoning – are interpreted from an “outsiders” perspective. - Urban Harvest Fruit Tree Sale. On April 2nd, Urban Harvest Farmers Market will be having a fruit tree sale from 8am-noon at Richmond Street & Eastside Street. - Keep Houston Beautiful. Keep Houston Beautiful will be having events around the city through the middle of April. The goal of the Keep Houston Beautiful Day activities is to beautify the area.
