What will I be?doing?
Join a team of motivated professionals seeking to promote disaster mitigation through large-scale grant program administration and funding development.
- Overseeing contracts with the Texas General Land Office and interlocal agreements with local government partners to implement a series of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Mitigation projects.
- Maintaining relationships and communication with internal staff and external partner agencies in pursuit of program deliverables and goals
- Coordinate fiscal and compliance reporting for the projects and providing oversight and support for local partners
- Identify and pursue additional grant opportunities
- Coordinating program efforts with other department and agency resilience initiatives
Key?Qualifications
- Experience managing large grant projects; preferably related to US. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) CDBG funds. Experience with similar state and federal resiliency-related sources is also preferred, including Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Texas Water Development Board (TWDB), US Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA), and US Economic Development Agency (EDA) funding programs.
- Background in disaster resilience or related disciplines (e.g., flood mitigation, utility planning, disaster recovery, housing); preferably experience working with vulnerable communities.
- Experience working with Microsoft 360 applications; preference for skills with agency or grantor software including Asana, Teams, SharePoint, Concur, Novus Agenda, and Texas Integrated Grant Reporting (TIGR)
- Demonstrated strong project management, presentation, writing and communication skills, and comfort with public speaking in front of varying audiences
- Demonstrable experience and success with funding development and grant writing

- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable academic discipline or?related?field of study
- 5?years of experience?working with local government, nonprofit program, school or in job related duties
