Texas Community Watershed Partners seek a GIFT Extension Assistant
Texas Community Watershed Partners (a part of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Disaster Assessment
and Recovery Unit) in Houston, TX is seeking applications for a Program Coordinator I. This position will work out of our office in the Clear Lake Houston area (near Johnson Space Center) as part of the Green Infrastructure for Texas (GIFT) program. The Extension Assistant, under general supervision, performs programmatic and outreach responsibilities for the assigned extension program.
Responsibilities
- Represents AgriLife Extension’s Green Infrastructure for Texas (GIFT) team at meetings, workshops, and
outreach events. - Assists GIFT team members with program and outreach efforts, including logistics and organization for
meetings, workshops, and outreach events. - Assists with meeting facilitation and note taking.
- Produces written materials for distribution to community stakeholders.
- Assists with generating reports.
- Assists with project website updates and creation of content for online courses.
- Produces and/or delivers presentations on green infrastructure.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Overnight travel within Texas is required.
 Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- No prior experience required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of Word processing, database, presentation and spreadsheet applications.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift or move objects up to 40 lbs., as needed for in-person workshops and trainings.
