CEC Welcomes Ava Trachtenberg as an intern

Ava is a senior at Emery High School in Houston. She has been involved with climate activism in several capacities—founding and leading a Climate Action Club at her school, serving on the national leadership board of the Jewish Youth Climate Movement, being an active member of Houston Youth Climate Strike, and participating in the Youth Implementation Group for the City of Houston’s Climate Action Plan. Over the past few years, she has dedicated herself to fighting for climate justice and  working to build a more sustainable and just world for everyone.

In her free time, Ava loves to read, write songs, play piano and guitar, hike, and learn. She will be a volunteer intern for CEC this summer and is excited to learn about nonprofits, community engagement, and all of the environmental organizations doing incredible work in Houston.
