Houston City Council Agenda- January 25 & 26, 2022

The city will consider the following agenda items at the Houston City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, January 25 (public meeting) and Wednesday, January 26, (council meeting) in the City Hall Chamber. Hosted as a hybrid event, the virtual details can be found here. The agenda includes items pertaining to disaster recovery, creation of improvement districts, construction of water systems, flood mitigation, and receiving nominations for H-GAC and Port of Houston.

Consent Agenda Items

Agenda Item 5 is for a contract of $4 M with DCE construction for water line replacement in the Bellaire West Area.

Agenda Item 6 is for a contract with Reytec Contruction Resources for an amount of $2 M and is for part of a project to maintain and improve existing water transmission systems.

Agenda Item 21 is for the approval of a three-year contract with Atkins North America at $6 M for disaster recovery and consulting services for the Finance Department. This allocates $6 M for legacy disasters (Harvey) and $50 K as a placeholder for future disaster events.

Agenda Item 22 is for a contract with Tetra Tech for disaster recovery and consultation services for the Finance Department for $24M.

Agenda Item 26 consents to the creation of the Harris County Water Control and Improvement District No. 164.

Agenda Item 27 consents to the creation of Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 570 containing 192 acres of land.

Agenda Item 28 prohibits the use of designated groundwater beneath a tract of land containing 0.98 acres commonly known as 1702 Nance St., Houston.

Agenda Item 29 replaces a ground water well as part of the Sharpstown 2 Well 5 Project.

Agenda Item 30 takes $117 K out of the Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund, to fund TxDOT construction at the intersection of Navigation Boulevard at Jenson Drive and Runnels Street.

Agenda Item 31 for the 2016 Flood Mitigation Assistance Home Elevation Project at 5031 Braesheather Drive, Houston, Texas.

Agenda Item 32 appropriates $3 M to CSI Consolidated, LLC for Sanitary Sewer Cleaning within the city.
