Houston City Council Agenda – September 29, 2020

The city will consider the following agenda items at the Houston City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 29, 2020, which will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams at 1:30 PM. Public comment will be allowed Tuesday, September 30, 2020 by teleconference. The agenda includes items related to appointing two new individuals to the Bicycle Advisory Committee, the appointment of several individuals to the Houston Clean City Commission Board of Directors, Waterline Rehabilitation, appropriation for Sinkhole Repair, an ordinance declaring parking in bicycle lanes unlawful, and the expansion of Utility Districts, among other topics.

• Agenda Item 1 is a request from the Mayor to confirm the appointment of Tom Compson and Nick Hellyar to the Bicycle Advisory Committee.
• Agenda Item 2 is confirmation of the appointment of several individuals to the Houston Clean City Commission Board of Directors.
• Agenda Item 7 approves the purchase of Waterline Rehabilitation for Houston Public Works, at a cost of $225,000.
• Agenda Item 8 appropriates $1,027,145 for the payment of an Emergency Purchase Order for Sinkhole Repair.
• Agenda Item 11 is an ordinance amending Chapter 26 of the Code of Ordinances, Houston, Texas, by adding new Section 26-100 relating to On-Street Parking Restrictions in Dedicated Bicycle Lanes.
• Agenda Item 21 is an ordinance authorizing the application for grant assistance from the United States Homeland Security Regional Catastrophic Preparedness Grant Program.
• Agenda Items 28, 29, 30, and 31 add a total of approximately 3.6 acres of land to the Spring Creek Utility District.
• Agenda Item 32 is an ordinance consenting to the addition of 33.32 acres of land to the Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 565.
• Agenda Item 33 is an ordinance consenting to the addition of 0.92 acres of land to the Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 122.
• Agenda Item 35 is an ordinance re-appropriating funding for projects relating to Northeast Transmission Water Line.
